Job summary
The Charter Township of Van Buren is seeking a Director of Water and Sewer to lead the Water & Sewer Division, directing operations, engineering, and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in water/sewer operations and a valid Michigan driver's license, plus a relevant degree and EGLE certification.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of civil engineering and water/sewer systems.
- Minimum five years in Water/Sewer maintenance and operations.
- S-1 EGLE Water Operator Certificate.
- Valid Michigan driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the administrative functions of the Water & Sewer Division including personnel, budgeting, financials, engineering, and general administration.
- Plans and directs the activities of skilled workers, consultants and supervisors.
- Oversees operation, installation, maintenance and repair of piping, hydrants, valves, sewer lines, pumps, etc.
- Develops budgets and rate models; coordinates with officials and commissions.
