Job summary

County of Glenn seeks an experienced Director of Public Works to oversee engineering, transportation planning, road maintenance, sanitation services, airports, and flood control. The Director reports to the CAO and Board of Supervisors, guiding a large team and managing a substantial operating and CIP budget to deliver essential infrastructure for the County.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade and graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in Public Works, Engineering, Construction or other related field with three (3) years in the supervisory capacity.
• License & Special Requirements: Requires a valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering, transportation planning, road maintenance, sanitation services, airports, and flood control operations.
• Lead a high-performing team and manage operating and capital improvement program (CIP) budget.
• Deliver critical infrastructure and public services across the County.
