Job summary

County of Glenn seeks an experienced Director of Public Works to oversee a diverse portfolio including roads, sanitation, airports, and flood control. The role reports to the CAO and Board of Supervisors, managing a large CIP program and a high-performing team to deliver critical infrastructure and services for Glenn County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in Public Works, Engineering, Construction or related field.
• Three years in supervisory capacity.
• Requires a valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct design, construction, maintenance of roads and public works facilities, coordinating surveying and inspection activities.
• Review and approve designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and right-of-way matters for road/bridge projects and flood control works.
• Inspect work on Public Works projects; review bids and advise leadership on contracts.
• Establish goals, programs, structure, policies and procedures of the Agency.
