Job summary

Lincoln County seeks an experienced Public Works Director to oversee six divisions—Public Works Administration, Engineering, Facilities, Fleet Services, Road Maintenance & Operations, and Solid Waste District. The position directs administration, planning, and engineering tasks for roads, bridges, and facilities, on a ~334 miles of roads and 87 bridges framework, under the County Administrator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• PE licensure in Oregon or ability to obtain within one year preferred.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible supervisory/management public works experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee six divisions: Public Works Administration, Engineering, Facilities, Fleet Services, Road Maintenance & Operations, Solid Waste District.
• Direct administration, planning, and engineering tasks for roads, bridges, and buildings.
• Represent the County at local, state, and federal meetings and committees.
• Implement Board policies and manage department staff under the County Administrator.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field

Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oregon or eligibility within one year
