Job summary

Jefferson Township in Kentucky is seeking a full-time Service Crew I to maintain township roads, parks, cemeteries, and stormwater infrastructure. You will gain hands-on experience with zero-turn mowers, small dump trucks, trailers, and other light equipment.

Starting pay is $24.39 per hour ($50,731.20 annually) with a 3% raise effective January 1, 2027, and a comprehensive benefits package including OPERS and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff and public.
• Ability to switch between duties and priorities quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide snow and ice removal with non-CDL vehicles.
• Perform groundskeeping: mowing, trimming, weeding, planting.
• Maintain and repair park facilities (playgrounds, shelters, restrooms).
• Assist with road maintenance: signage, pothole repair, berms, tree trimming.
• Conduct stormwater maintenance: ditches, tiles, basins.
• Assist with cemetery plot opening/closing and headstone foundations.
• Operate and maintain equipment used in roadway, grounds, cemetery, stormwater work.
