Job summary

Internetwork Expert seeks a Construction Manager to oversee Los Angeles public works projects, coordinating inspections, contract administration, budgets, and schedules. You will ensure compliance with plans and specifications, prepare change orders, and lead meetings with stakeholders.

The position requires a civil/construction engineering background, knowledge of standard public works specs, and strong communication to resolve issues on site.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college with a major in Civil or Construction Engineering.
• Familiarity with Greenbook and Caltrans standards and experience in their use.
• Working knowledge of Caltrans Standard Specifications/Plans and OSHA Construction Safety Orders.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• 1–3 years of experience in construction management on road/bridge/public works projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection and on-site management of projects.
• Prepare and process change orders, daily logs, and working day statements; maintain records for payment purposes.
• Coordinate materials testing and construction staking by department staff.
• Respond to inquiries from the public, officials, and project management staff.
• Coordinate the construction of the project and manage budgets/schedules.
• Review contractor submittals and administer project contracts.
• Monitor cost and schedule performance; ensure QA/QC of contractor performance.
• Coordinate project close-out activities and public outreach efforts.
