Job summary

Internetwork Expert in Los Angeles is seeking a Construction Scheduler to support Public Works projects. You will develop and maintain schedules for construction programs, review contractor schedules, and assist in CTRs with project managers.

Ideal candidates have a civil engineering background, strong proficiency in Suretrak, Primavera P6, MS Project Online, and Excel, WordPerfect and Access. Experience interpreting plans and contract documents is valuable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college with a major in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, special provisions, and other contract documents.
• Proficiency in WordPerfect, Excel, and Access.
• Proficiency in the implementation and use of Suretrak, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project Online and other scheduling software.
• Ability to prepare project and program schedules using Suretrak, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project Online and other scheduling software.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.
• Previous experience preparing and analyzing schedules for the types of projects described under Resident Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Develop/Prepares schedules for various Public Works' construction programs.
• Prepare schedules for various Public Works' construction projects.
• Works with Project Managers to prepare Contract Time Requests (CTR) prior to advertising projects.
• Analyze project schedules submitted by contractors prior to the start of construction.
• Review and analyze baseline schedules and monthly progress schedules submitted by contractors.
• Develop As-built schedules based upon available records in support of claims analysis.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Project Management Division III and Public Works' staff.
• Provide instruction and training to Public Works' staff in the preparation of schedules.
