The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Construction Inspector II to review construction plans and oversee infrastructure projects within the Transportation & Public Works Department. The role ensures compliance with plans, specifications, contracts, and regulatory standards while coordinating with contractors and city staff.

Ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, responsible, and team‑oriented, with experience in public works inspections and a commitment to quality and safety across utilities and road

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of construction inspection experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Class C Water Distribution certification within one year.
• Must pass HPE and Drug Screen.

Responsabilités

• Inspects work quality and materials to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs preliminary and final inspections and recommends acceptance.
• Observes work during progress and upon completion.
• Coordinates change orders and advises contractors of changes.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Inspects utilities, streets, sidewalks, and structures.
• Acts as liaison between contractors and the public.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff and developers.
• Drives a City vehicle.
