Job summary

Trinity River Authority of Texas is seeking an intermediate-level inspector to perform on-site monitoring of municipal-type construction projects to verify completion per plans and specifications. The role supports the Construction Inspector Supervisor with daily reporting and coordination of material tests.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 60 college credits in math/physics preferred, and four years of construction-related experience with a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 60 college credit hours in math/physics preferred.
• Four years of on-the-job training with four years in construction-related work.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Basic math knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction of new facilities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Coordinate tests of materials and equipment (e.g., concrete slump, compression, soil density).
• Maintain a daily log of activities and weather data; update project management system.
• Review monthly estimates for payment and assist with contractor coordination.
• Remain available during working hours to resolve questions; may require extended/weekend hours.
• Ensure activities occur within certified easements or project sites and meet easement requirements.
