Job summary

The City of Sugar Land’s Public Works Department seeks a Code Enforcement Field Supervisor to schedule, coordinate, and supervise field inspections of residential and commercial properties, ensuring compliance with the Development Code, ordinances, and ICC codes.

You will lead Code Enforcement Officers, oversee procedures, respond to open records, and drive performance measures while remaining an essential employee during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of progressively responsible government experience with at least two years in supervision.
• Valid Texas Class "C" Driver License.
• Registered as a Code Enforcement Officer in the State of Texas.
• Swimming Pool/Spa Operator Certification or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Code Enforcement Officer II Certification (State of Texas) or must obtain within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and supervise field activities including on-site inspections of occupied and vacant properties.
• Ensure compliance with City ordinances, Development Code, and adopted codes.
• Provide guidance to Code Enforcement Officers in the field.
• Oversee division operations, staff, vehicles/equipment, and supplies.
• Respond to Open Records Requests and prepare reports.
• Be an essential employee before, during, and after emergencies.
