Job summary

Halff’s Public Works internship in Lubbock, TX offers hands-on civil engineering exposure with supervision from a Professional Engineer. You will work on Public Works and Transportation projects, gaining CAD drafting, plan preparation, and cost estimation experience.

The program runs June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027, with a full-time, 40-hour week schedule. Housing is not provided; a strong emphasis on communication, teamwork and organization will help you succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree
• Great communication skills
• Solid relationship and team building skills
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects
• Perform drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
