Job summary

Halff in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Public Works/Transportation team. The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, and interns work full-time 40 hours per week, typically 8 am–5 pm, Monday through Friday.

You will design civil projects under a Professional Engineer, assist with plans and cost estimates, perform CAD drafting, and participate in permits and coordination with surveyors, architects, and clients.

Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
Great communication skills.
Solid relationship and team building skills.
Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
Perform drafting CAD work.
Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
