The Town of Chapel Hill is seeking a part-time Administrative/Analytical Support position within the Public Works Department. This role offers entry-level public sector exposure and a chance to gain insight into town operations.
Responsibilities include customer service, clerical tasks, budget support, and data analysis. Requires a high school diploma and ability to work on-site, with a background check and drug screening as part of pre-employment requirements.

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and analytical support to the Public Works department. This part-time position provides a valuable opportunity to gain a unique view of the inner workings of Town government, as well as gain entry-level public sector experience.
This position has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table, with intermittent standing or stooping. The employee uses equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
The work is typically performed in an office. This position is in person at the Town of Chapel Hill Public Works Department at 6850 Millhouse Road.
Knowledge of:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Students with a background in Public Administration, Public Policy or a related field are encouraged to apply.
One year of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience required.
A valid NC driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.
