State of Hawai'i is seeking a regulatory staff member to support investigation, analysis and evaluation of public utilities and transportation for the Public Utilities Commission via the Administrative Director.

The role involves planning, directing, coordinating assignments, and presenting before State and Federal agencies; expertise in laws, regulations and rate policies is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.
• Five and one-half years of progressively responsible experience in public utilities or public transportation.
• Three of the five and one-half years must involve one or more regulated utilities or regulated public transportation carriers.
• Administrative aptitude demonstrated by leadership or management tasks.
• Master's degree or 30 graduate semester hours may substitute for one year of specialized experience.
• The State of Hawai'i provides accommodations per disability laws and welcomes applicants with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff services in investigation, analysis and evaluation of public utilities or transportation to the Public Utilities Commission.
• Plan, direct, coordinate and organize presentations to State and Federal agencies and legislative bodies.
• Explain and testify on matters related to utilities and transportation regulations and decisions.
