Job summary

First Tennessee Human Resource Agency seeks a Full-Time NET Trans Van Driver to transport clients to appointments and community activities, with a 6:00am start Monday–Friday in Washington County. This role offers excellent full-time benefits and Sundays off.

Drivers operate agency vans, provide client assistance on and off the vehicles, perform pre-trip inspections, and follow all safety, state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a public transportation system is preferred but not required.
• Must possess a Class D license with Endorsement F (minimum).
• Must pass pre-hire drug and alcohol tests and be subject to random testing.
• Must pass a DOT physical.
• Must submit a 10-year DMV check and annual DMV report.
• Must pass a pre-hire functional ability screening.
• Must submit to a pre-hire criminal background check.
• Must be over 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Obey all traffic laws and safety precautions during van operation.
• Provide passenger assistance entering/exiting the vehicle and assist clients with mobility impairments.
• Follow central office instructions and use FCC/TDOT radio procedures; report schedule changes.
• Maintain accurate daily schedules, mileage, and time records; submit paperwork and revenue timely.
• Perform daily pre-trip van inspections and report issues to maintenance; keep van clean.
• Present a clean, professional appearance and conduct yourself accordingly.
• Treat clients with dignity and respect and protect confidentiality.
• Support transportation of clients across routes/counties and assist other drivers as needed.
• Collect general fares and follow proper money handling procedures.
• Adhere to all Agency policies; duties may include other tasks as assigned.
• Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position.
