Job summary

Pinellas County Government is seeking four Customer Service Technicians in Clearwater, FL to handle complex, high-volume public interactions and support licensing, tax, and DMV-related services. You will perform cashiering, document verification, and sensitive records processing with attention to regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong accuracy and ability to navigate multiple systems, including state databases and inter-agency tools.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a Florida Tax Collector’s Office/DHSMV agency; or 1 year in an automated office environment, retail sales, or related customer service/cash handling field.
• 1 year of college coursework that includes finance, accounting, business, general studies, or computer courses and training.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid State of Florida Driver’s License upon hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of an MVR driving report.
• Be at least 18 years of age and compliant with Florida Statutes 322 (for administration of road tests).
• Working at different locations of the PCTCO with reliable transportation may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides a wide variety of complex, technical, and supportive services to the general public in person, by phone, mail, or Internet access.
• Conducts investigations using computer databases and coordinates with third-party field agents for various enforcement tasks.
• Screens applicants and documents for eligibility before processing licenses or information.
• Accesses state online databases to determine eligibility for driver licenses.
• Performs technical work related to motor vehicle, registrations, titles, plates, and related fee collection.
• Issues licenses and ID cards, renewals, and replacements as applicable.
• Researches and determines eligibility for license reinstatement per applicable laws and regulations.
• Administers exams and conducts road skills tests when needed.
• Operates specialized office equipment and participates in inter-agency collaboration.
