City of Charlottesville seeks a Public Service Manager to oversee the Public Service Division, including right-of-way maintenance, street infrastructure, and emergency operations. You will coordinate budgets, staff supervision, and program management to ensure service quality and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, advanced knowledge of asset management and GIS, and the ability to engage with City leadership and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of professional experience in public service management, including 2 years supervisory.
• Associate degree and 7 years in public service management (infrastructure, budgets, HR) with 2 years supervisory.
• High school diploma or GED and 9 years in public service management with 2 years supervisory.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Develops, plans, manages and coordinates maintenance and infrastructure repair programs related to right-of-way and seasonal operations.
• Develops, manages information systems including asset management, portals, and GIS applications.
• Coordinates emergency and special operations planning and implementation.
• Manages contracts and budgets supporting division services and stakeholder access.
• Prepares and presents reports to management, City Council and the public.
