Job summary

City of Irvine offers the Community Development Field Services Assistant Apprenticeship (Limited Term). The role provides administrative and technical support to Code Enforcement and Inspection teams, performs field work, and delivers excellent resident service.

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Possess or be able to obtain a California driver's license.
At least one year of customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Public Outreach: educate and inform stakeholders about codes, ordinances, and regulations.
Administrative Support: prioritize tasks to ensure efficient daily operations.
Complaint Intake: conduct initial interviews for potential code violations.
Field Support: assist during on-site inspections to identify code violations.
Technical Inspections: support inspectors in evaluating structures and systems for compliance.
Permit Review: assist in reviewing construction permits and plans for compliance.
