Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering-focused product/program leader to own outcomes in the US public sector.

You will embed with sales leaders, drive engineering engagements end-to-end, and partner across Sales, Solution Architecture, and Engineering to accelerate how governments, healthcare, research, and education adopt cloud and AI. Qualifications

4+ years of technical product or program management experience.
4+ years of software development experience.
4+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
Experience with Cloud platforms (preferably AWS), database systems (SQL and NoSQL), AI tools for development productivity, contributing to open-source projects, and/or version control systems.
Experience working cross-functionally and driving decision making among stakeholders with competing goals.

Responsibilities

Anticipate where your vertical is heading and shape strategy, getting engineering involved early where it makes the biggest difference - including where AI is the critical path.
Own the qualification mechanism that drives which opportunities receive engineering investment, weighing scale, reuse, complexity, time-to-impact, and delivery risk.
Set and apply the bar that qualifies an engagement - scalability, reusability, multi-customer applicability, force-multiplier potential - and make the hard calls on those that don't clear it.
Work side by side with engineers through the build, making the architecture, scoping, and tradeoff decisions that determine success - you own the technical outcome, not just the schedule.
Drive co-build execution with AWS Service Teams and Partners, applying AI to accelerate delivery and create reusable patterns that benefit many customers.
Own delivery end-to-end from qualification through transfer, resolving technical and cross-team ambiguity without escalation.
Keep leadership current on investments, outcomes, and realized impact.
Influence peers and partner teams, and mentor less-experienced engineers and program managers.
