Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority (PDRTA) is seeking a Staff Accountant to develop precise financial data, maintain accurate journals and ledgers, and support the Director of Finance to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

The role emphasizes accounts payable, general ledger review, budgeting assistance, and financial reporting, with a strong focus on timely processing, audits, and accurate GASB-adherent statements.

Qualifications

• Experience in government or public agency finance is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Ability to prepare accurate and timely financial information.

Responsabilités

• Handle accounts payable, PO entry, check issuance, and vendor communication.
• Review and reconcile general ledger; prepare journal entries and adjustments.
• Assist in developing audited financial statements and footnotes.
• Support budget development and monitoring efforts.
• Process 1099-NEC reporting annually.
• Participate in audits and regulatory reviews by authorities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly internal financial reports.
