Job summary

City of Raleigh is seeking a Risk Analyst in the Risk Management Department to protect city assets through property and liability insurance, claims management, and risk mitigation. You’ll analyze exposures, support insurance programs, and help reduce losses in a dynamic public-sector environment.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and 1–3 years of risk management experience; ARM/AIC/CPCU certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
• 1 to 3 years' experience in risk management or related field.
• Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Provides analytical and administrative support of the City's insurance program.
• Maintains insurance policies and annual renewals.
• Supports claims programs for property, liability, and third-party subrogation with stakeholders.
• Assists in implementing and operating risk management software for tracking incidents, claims, exposures.
• Delivers informational training on insurance programs and risk reduction strategies.
• Reviews contracts and events to ensure insurance requirements align with risk tolerance.
• Researches and analyzes program data to identify trends and presents findings.
• Provides recommendations and solutions for assigned programs or projects.
• Processes Risk vendor invoices and maintains records and procedures.
