Job summary

Rowland Unified School District is seeking a Payroll Technician in the Fiscal Services Department to perform complex payroll accounting and payroll-system tasks for classified and certificated staff. You will prepare, audit, reconcile, and maintain payrolls including monthly, semi-monthly, hourly, supplemental, adjustment, and retroactive transactions, ensuring accurate and timely compensation.

Ideally you have a high school diploma and experience with computerized payroll and timekeeping

Qualifications

• Two years of payroll experience or related financial work.
• Experience with computerized payroll and timekeeping systems required.
• Desirable coursework in accounting or payroll administration.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex payroll accounting and payroll-system work for classification and certificated staff across various payroll cycles (monthly, semi-monthly, hourly, supplemental, adjustment, retroactive).
• Audit, reconcile, and maintain payroll data to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Resolve payroll, system, and data-integrity discrepancies in accordance with laws, policies, and district procedures.
