Linn County Auditor's Office is seeking a payroll and payables professional to support bi-weekly payroll processing, timesheet reviews, and supplier payments in a public sector setting. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and data confidentiality.

Office hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with competitive benefits and opportunities for professional development. Located in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or closely related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or payroll, preferably in the public sector.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll authorizations.
• Review timesheets for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Verify and approve bills, P-card transactions, and expense reports in payables system.
• Import procurement card transaction data into payables system.
• Manage procurement card program including issuing cards and data maintenance.
• Assist with vendor records and tax ID validation.
• Provide payroll or payables system training and troubleshooting.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and vendor data.
• Process departmental deposits including COBRA deposits.
• Prepare and maintain reports and records per policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Review entries across platforms for audits and reporting.
• Review work of other staff in processing accounting data.
• Ensure transactions comply with county policies and regulations.
