Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a database specialist Solutions Architect to serve as a trusted technical advisor to State & Local Government, Education, and emerging technology customers embarking on complex database migration and modernization journeys.

In this role, you'll combine deep technical expertise in relational and non-relational database technologies with customer-facing consulting skills to architect solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 8+ years of experience in technology domains (software development, cloud, systems, security, data & analytics).

Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end database solutions for public sector customers, leading technical discussions on migration and modernization strategies across relational databases (Amazon RDS, Aurora) and NoSQL services.
• Lead complex database migration assessments, performance optimization engagements, and architecture reviews, evaluating trade-offs in scalability, reliability, cost, and operational excellence.
• Provide strategic technical guidance to customers through 1:1 advisory sessions and 1:many enablement workshops, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive database service adoption and revenue growth by contributing to go-to-market strategy, creating reusable technical content, and mentoring field Solutions Architects through office hours and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, product, and engineering to gather customer feedback and translate requirements into actionable product enhancements.
