Job summary

New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection seeks a Data Scientist to strengthen data quality, analytics, and reporting for the DoTSS Reporting Team. You will apply GIS and BI tools to improve agency operations and public transparency while supporting policy decisions.

You will report to the Manager of Data Analytics, collaborate across teams, and help design public-facing dashboards and data-sharing initiatives. Remote work up to 2 days weekly may be available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a physical, biological, environmental science or public health field.
• Experience in data quality assessment and advanced analytics to improve operations and accountability.
• Strong communication skills for public forums and executive audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and collaborative projects across agency teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytic, reporting, and data quality initiatives across the agency.
• Develop and maintain public-facing analytic tools to enhance transparency.
• Provide research support for special initiatives and projects.
