Job summary

Tenable is seeking a passionate Sales Engineer for the Public Sector to drive technical credibility and customer success in the west region. You will partner with Sales to differentiate Tenable, translate requirements into risk-driven outcomes, and support government clients throughout evaluations and trials.

This role blends deep cybersecurity expertise with storytelling and customer empathy to deliver tangible value for government agencies, with travel to local sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Public-Sector Experience: knowledge of government operations, procurement, and budgets.
• Cybersecurity Experience: hands-on in Vulnerability/Exposure Management and related areas.
• Effective Communicator & Storyteller: ability to translate findings into business risk.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compelling technical demonstrations tailored to public sector needs.
• Support evaluations and Proof of Value to align with customer goals.
• Translate technical findings into risk and business outcomes for stakeholders.
• Engage with government clients, partners, and internal teams to build trust.
• Assist in RFI/RFP responses and support local events and conferences.
