Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect for the public sector to accelerate cloud adoption in state, local government and education. You will design secure, scalable AWS solutions, engage stakeholders, and translate needs into technical architectures that deliver improved student and citizen experiences.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• Experience with AWS technologies

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to state, local government, and education customers, designing and building solutions to difficult technical problems using AWS cloud services
• Educate and share best practices by developing, delivering, and maintaining technical content including sample code, presentations, white papers, and workshops that incorporate lessons learned from customer engagements
• Take customer input and translate it into technical requirements, working closely with internal teams including sales, business development, professional services, and engineering to drive customer success
• Own the end-to-end design of cloud architecture solutions, conducting technical deep-dives with customer teams and providing guidance on security, scalability, availability, and performance best practices
• Identify gaps in products and services while mentoring teammates on designing technical customer solutions and coordinating speaking opportunities at events that educate technical and business audiences
