Job summary

Google is recruiting a Customer Engineer for Google Cloud Public Sector in the United States. You will partner with technical Sales to differentiate Google Cloud offerings for state/local government and education customers, designing AI-enabled solutions and leading PoC efforts across GPS teams.

You will translate customer requirements into practical architectures, engage with government leaders, and help accelerate digital transformations in public sector institutions nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Sales team to uncover and qualify Google Cloud and AI-first opportunities, proactively addressing technical objections around adoption, and developing strategic pathways to clear technical blockers.
• Own the technical relationship with our State and Local Government customers, leading immersive product briefings on Google Cloud and Google's GenAI portfolio, driving innovative PoC work, and orchestrating specialized technical resources across GPS.
• Demonstrate and rapidly prototype intelligent integrations, bringing autonomous agents and AI-powered workflows to life directly within complex customer and partner environments.
• Design and recommend AI-optimized enterprise architectures and integration strategies, laying the secure platform and data infrastructure foundations required to deploy comprehensive, forward-looking solutions using Google Cloud best practices.
• Travel to customer sites, industry conferences, and related events as required to advocate Google Public Sector's aim and engage directly with government leaders.
