Job summary

Google Public Sector is seeking a Customer Engineer for the Platform, SLED team in Central South. This remote-eligible role supports state, local, and education clients across the US, partnering with GA and sales to design AI-enabled architectures and cloud-based solutions.

You will lead immersive briefings, prototype AI-powered workflows, and translate customer requirements into practical, scalable Google Cloud deployments for public sector institutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Sales team to uncover and qualify Google Cloud and AI-first opportunities, proactively addressing technical objections around adoption, and developing strategic pathways to clear technical blockers.
• Own the technical relationship with State and Local Government customers, leading immersive product briefings on Google Cloud and Google's GenAI portfolio, driving PoC work, and orchestrating specialized technical resources across GPS.
• Demonstrate and rapidly prototype intelligent integrations, bringing autonomous agents and AI-powered workflows to life within complex customer environments.
• Design and recommend AI-optimized enterprise architectures and integration strategies, laying secure platform and data infrastructure foundations for comprehensive solutions.
• Travel to customer sites, industry conferences, and related events to advocate Google Public Sector's aims.
