Job summary

The City of Alexandria, Virginia is seeking a Capital Projects Manager to lead the development and execution of Capital Improvement Projects and related facility maintenance programs. You will oversee scopes of work, design documents, cost estimates, scheduling, QA/QC, and construction administration across City departments.

You will coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal staff, ensure compliance with codes and procurement rules, and drive sustainability and energy

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in architecture or engineering.
• Extensive experience in project management and supervision.
• Experience with government or private sector construction projects.
• Knowledge of public procurement process.

Responsibilities

• Integrates programming requirements with design teams into final construction documents and built facilities.
• Monitors project budgets and schedules across CIP projects.
• Conducts QA/QC reviews and oversees contract administration and change orders.
• Liaises with City departments, the community, and stakeholders on CIP planning and construction.
