Job summary

Steele County is seeking an Accounting Technician to deliver high-quality customer service while processing payments, disbursing funds, and preparing department payroll. You will work with county residents, internal departments and external entities to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.

Responsibilities include maintaining accounts receivable/payable, coding vouchers, reconciling expenses, assisting with inventory and client records, and supporting audits and eligibility

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting or billing experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Process payments and ensure accuracy of disbursements and receipts.
• Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable in conjunction with Finance.
• Code vouchers for vendor bills and verify calculations.
• Reconcile credit card expenses and assist with inventory tracking.
• Assist with client records, audits, and eligibility checks.
