Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Public Works Financial Manager to oversee the department's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, payroll, and cost accounting, with involvement in major program decisions with fiscal implications.

The successful candidate will lead Finance Department staff in day-to-day operations and collaborate closely with the Public Works Director, County Engineer, and division managers on annual budgets, reporting, project accounting, and grant management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• At least one year managing a discrete work unit with direct responsibility for a team.
• CPA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department financial operations including accounting, budgeting, payroll, and cost accounting.
• Lead Finance Department staff and collaborate with the Public Works Director, County Engineer, and division managers on budgets and reporting.
