Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of accounting, auditing or computer systems analysis involving accounting data.
• Or 4 years of post-secondary education and 1 year of accounting, auditing or computers systems analysis involving accounting data.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, HIPAA and other fiscal standards for timely, accurate payments.
• Verify and process entries using AOD/MFMP, FLAIR, PALM, BARS, CAIRS and Axiom Pro.
• Analyze vouchers daily to ensure they are current, complete, and verified timely; liaise with the Mail Distribution and Invoice Preparation section.
• Export and prepare data for reporting, create and distribute reports to staff and external stakeholders within required timeframes.
• Review and maintain accounting records including allotments, encumbrances and payables.
• Audit invoices for proper certification and authorization to pay; identify inaccuracies and input adjusting entries.
• Process high-profile invoices such as postage, moving expenses, tolls and after-the-fact invoicing.
• Provide accounting support to staff, vendors, auditors and other customers; handle escalated items and vendor statements.
• Liaise with DFS for voucher issues and work with staff and external customers on escalations.
• Assist in onboarding new staff or policies; train employees in procedures relevant to their work.
• Maintain required departmental training hours and stay current on accounting systems.
• Assist with year-end closing activities and the certified forward process.
• Performs other related duties and special projects as required.
