Job summary

The North Slope Borough is seeking a qualified accounting professional to provide professional and technical governmental accounting skills for the accounting division.

Responsibilities include general ledger, accounts payable, revenue, grants, payroll, and cash management; annual audits; and support for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, with collaboration across villages and departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business from an accredited institution or CPA license.
• Two years of College Accounting courses and three years accounting experience, including one year of government accounting.
• One year of supervisory work experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, approves and posts computer batch entries; general ledger, accounts payable, revenue, accounts receivable, grant accounting, payroll.
• Prepare monthly General Ledger, investment, and other reconciliations and reports.
• Assist with annual Audit and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report preparation.
• Maintain daily cash flow, reconcile bank accounts and maintain chart of accounts.
• Provide training and guidance on accounting issues to departments and staff.
