Job summary

Montana Department of Corrections is seeking a DOC Training Coordinator to elevate public safety skills through high-quality staff development. You will train Corrections employees across basic, in-service, and advanced courses while coordinating with staff instructors to implement the DOC Training Plan.

As part of the training team, you’ll work with Trainers, Management, and the DOC Training Manager to ensure consistent curricula across facilities and divisions, extending impact to Judges,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required or alternative combinations may offset education requirements.
• Experience with field training officer (FTO) programs preferred.
• Instructor Development certification and membership in an advanced training team (e.g., SRT, STG) exempt the degree requirement.
• Experience with Probation, Law Enforcement, or Detention is highly sought after.

Responsibilities

• Train Corrections employees across basic, in-service, and advanced professional courses.
• Collaborate with fellow Trainers, Management, and DOC Training Manager to ensure consistent curriculum.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver curriculum across DOC facilities and divisions.
• Engage with external partners including Judges, Youth Courts, Tribal Agencies, and other law enforcement groups.
