Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections - Corrections Services in Baton Rouge seeks a Training & Development Specialist to plan, deliver, and evaluate probation and parole training programs across the division. You will manage catalogs, bookings, and course development, ensuring compliance and statewide consistency.

You will develop guides, coordinate orientations, and train new coordinators while auditing processes and maintaining the LEO/LSO training system.

Qualifications

Experience in planning, developing, delivering, or evaluating training programs.
explanation of substitution: college hours can count toward experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as liaison for LEO/LSO training and manage catalogs and course programs.
Create and maintain the LEO/LSO Training Manual; train new coordinators and audit processes.
Develop training materials and guides for division operations.
Assess training needs and streamline programs for statewide access.
Develop and maintain statewide training courses for staff using WORD, EXCEL, and related skills.
Record and track training completion and maintain data in the LEO/LSO system.
Consult with management to determine training needs and document compliance reports.
Assist in policy revisions and organize POST Academy classes as directed.
