Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Public Safety Telecommunicator for the Lutheran General hospital command center in Park Ridge, IL. This full-time, hybrid role includes 12-hour and 8-hour shifts, with every other weekend and holidays, on a 2nd/3rd shift schedule.

You will monitor security systems, dispatch staff, manage alarms, and maintain logs while meeting APCO certification within 12 months and possessing a GED or HS equivalency.

Qualifications

• GED or HS equivalency required.
• 1 year experience responding to alarms and monitoring hardware/software (security) (public and private).
• Strong computer skills and ability to type 35–40 wpm.
• Clear spoken and written English; effective communication with public and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and utilizes security systems to maintain ops picture.
• Dispatches Public Safety/Security staff via radio and CAD systems.
• Maintains automated logs of staff communications and activity.
• Responds to Security, Fire and Safety service requests and alarms.
• Receives calls from team members and public and inputs data into security systems.
• Prioritizes calls and dispatches personnel as needed.
