Job summary

University of Michigan DPSS is seeking a Technology Operations Support Manager to lead public safety technology programs across the Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn campuses. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Criminal Justice, Public Administration (or equivalent) and 5+ years supporting enterprise technology systems and managing full lifecycle projects.
• 3+ years supervising technical, geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience translating complex technology into clear guidance for leadership, public safety agencies, vendors, and IT partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead tech staff across multiple campuses and oversee service delivery, priorities, and after-hours support.
• Promote unified operational standards and bridge regional and central DPSS technology teams.
• Act as the primary technology liaison with ITS, Facilities, vendors, and campus leadership to deploy enterprise public safety technologies.
• Direct cross-campus programs from planning through implementation, managing budgets, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Translate complex technical concepts into communications, SOPs, and training materials for diverse audiences.
• Direct the DPSS Emergency Radio Program lifecycle, maintenance, inventory, and upgrades for all radio equipment fleets.
