Job summary

Octave Federal seeks a seasoned Public Safety Solutions Engineer to drive technical engagement with U.S. Federal customers.

You will lead discovery, develop end-to-end public safety architectures, and guide demonstrations to validate mission-critical capabilities across software, cloud, and geospatial platforms. You will collaborate with Account Executives and engineering teams, translating complex requirements into compelling technical proposals.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with public safety technologies and related disciplines.
• 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (solutions engineering, architecture, consulting, or services).
• Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government customers (DHS, DoD, DOJ, federal agencies).
• Experience designing, implementing, or supporting public safety or mission-critical solutions.
• Strong understanding of public safety workflows, enterprise architectures, and data exchange.
• Experience delivering technical demonstrations, workshops, and proofs of concept.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong written communication and proposal/documentation contributions.
• Ability to travel ~50% for customer-facing activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead throughout the Federal sales cycle.
• Lead technical discovery sessions with Federal customers and identify requirements.
• Develop solution concepts incorporating software, cloud, geospatial data, and integrations.
• Deliver technical demos, workshops, and proofs of concept.
• Support RFIs, RFPs, and proposal content with technical input.
• Collaborate with Account Executives, product management, and engineering.
• Stay current on FedRAMP, DoD ILs, Zero Trust, and related cybersecurity themes.
• Develop repeatable demonstrations and reference architectures.
