Job summary

Octave Federal, the US federal subsidiary of Octave, seeks a Geospatial Pre‑Sales Solutions Engineer to guide federal customers from discovery through deployment of geospatial solutions. You will partner with Account Executives to translate requirements into architectures spanning software, cloud services, data, and integrations.

Must have 7+ years in geospatial tech and 5+ years in customer-facing roles, with DoD/DHS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years with geospatial tech, enterprise software, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering or Sales Engineering.
• Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government customers ( DHS/ DoD/ DoJ/ public safety ).
• Demonstrated experience designing or supporting enterprise geospatial solutions.
• Strong understanding of GIS concepts, data, APIs, and enterprise architectures.
• Ability to deliver technical demonstrations and translate complex concepts clearly.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to support customers and events.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to engage Federal customers and capture requirements.
• Lead technical discovery sessions and workshops to identify challenges and outcomes.
• Translate requirements into geospatial solution architectures with software, cloud, data, and integrations.
• Develop concepts showing how geospatial tech improves situational awareness and asset management.
• Lead technical demonstrations, pilots, and proofs of concept for customer enviroments.
• Support RFIs, RFPs, and solution content with engineering input.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and partners to develop repeatable offerings.
• Maintain current knowledge of geospatial workflows, GEOINT, and cloud architectures.
