Job summary

The University of California, Irvine Police Department (UCIPD) is hiring Public Safety Responders for full-time roles across Irvine and UC Health sites. You will monitor, report, and respond to safety concerns, provide directions and escorts, and support emergency responses.

Requirements include reading, writing and speaking English, strong customer service and communication skills, ability to perform patrols, and a valid California Driver’s License with a BSIS Security Guard License.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
1 year of security or public-facing experience.
California Driver's License required.
BSIS Security Guard license required.
Must complete IAHS basic certification within 6 months of employment and maintain certification.
Must be able to work day/night shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Monitor, observe, and report public safety concerns and conditions.
Provide information, directions, and general assistance to the public.
Patrol and respond to calls for service across campus properties.
Escort patients, staff, and visitors as needed.
Operate CCTV and security systems; learn radio codes and two-way radio operation.
