Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak proper English.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to conduct sustained patrols or extended posts.
• Able to operate video surveillance equipment after training.
• Complete IAHA/H Healthcare Security and Safety basic certification within 6 months.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Valid California BSIS Security Guard License.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a California-licensed Security Guard.
• Experience interacting with the public in a service role.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, observe, and report public safety concerns.
• Perform patrols and respond to emergencies across UC Irvine sites.
• Provide escorts and maintain security presence in clinical settings.
• Operate surveillance systems and communicate via two-way radio.
• Complete required background checks, training, and certifications.
• Uphold safety policies and de-escalate threatening situations.
