Job summary

City of Chicago Office of Inspector General is seeking a lead Performance Analyst to supervise a team of analysts and oversee day-to-day operations within the Public Safety section. You will coordinate with CPD, COPA, and the Police Board to conduct independent evaluations, data analyses, and reporting on policing and accountability practices.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, data interpretation, and the ability to develop actionable reforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus five years of work experience in program auditing or operations analysis, OR Master’s degree plus four years of work experience.
• Experience conducting performance audits and evaluations for government or non-profit organizations preferred.
• Experience leading or managing people and teams.

Responsibilities

• supervise Performance Analysts and Senior Performance Analysts
• Manage teams conducting inquiries into police accountability operations, policies, programs, and practices
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify areas of concern and where improvements are needed
• Develop recommendations for police accountability reforms based on best practices and research
• Conduct site visits to observe operations and interview staff and stakeholders
• Draft and edit reports with qualitative and quantitative analysis, findings, and recommendations
• Assign projects and monitor progress
• Attend stakeholder meetings and participate in community engagement
