The New York City Department of Investigation's Office of the Inspector General for the New York City Police Department (OIG-NYPD) seeks an Investigative Analyst to examine NYPD operations and practices using a data-driven approach. Qualifications

  • A four-year high school diploma with four years' experience in an industrial or governmental agency in the field of investigation, auditing, law enforcement, security, inspections, or similar area.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to one or both of the above requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, review, study, or audit selected NYPD operations, policies, programs, and practices.
  • Identify policy and practice areas of concern and recommend reforms.
  • Monitor and produce public reports documenting NYPD implementation of the Office's recommendations.
  • Receive and triage public complaints as part of the team.
  • Collaborate with investigative analysts, data analysts, and attorneys.
