Job summary

ASM Global-SMG seeks an Assistant Public Safety Director to oversee the Security Services Department for the Pennsylvania Convention Center (PCC). You will plan, direct, and coordinate security operations to safeguard people and assets during events.

Under the Director of Public Safety, you will oversee budgets, manage internal staff and contractors, and coordinate with external security partners to uphold the highest protection standards. Flexibility for hours, including holidays, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice preferred; minimum 5 years in security/law enforcement or 7+ years with leadership responsibility.
• Experience in the hospitality industry is very helpful.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience with coaching/mentoring staff.
• Experience in crowd control is required.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates the activities of the Security Services Department.
• Manages security staff, contractors, and vendors; interfaces with event security staff.
• Develops and implements budget, SOPs, and capital purchase plans.
• Ensures security plans meet center standards during events; coordinates with external teams.
