Position: Public Safety Officer, Operations

Type: Full-time Hourly, Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Varies depending on department needs, 40 hours per week

Pay Range: $17.82-$22.80, based on relevant experience

Position Summary: Provide public safety and parking services to the JCCC community by enforcing policies, regulations, standards, and parking rules.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proficient in discipline with highly skilled work
• Conducts complex work under minimal supervision
• High school diploma + 6+ years relevant experience
• Certification: ASP baton, CPR, AED, First Aid, OC spray
• FEMA certification required
• Minimum age: 21
• US Citizen by Kansas law

Job Duties:

• Respond to calls, medical emergencies, assist motorists, recover property, enforce parking violations, and maintain campus thoroughfares.
• Manage parking, oversee event parking, direct traffic, serve as liaison, assist with security, and respond to emergencies.
• Inspect signage and grounds, conduct security patrols, assist campus community, and prepare reports.
• Provide escort services, respond to crises, and perform additional duties as needed.
