Job summary

The Town of Bluffton seeks an IT professional to provide desktop and technical support for municipal staff, including setup and maintenance of PCs, printers, iPads, and phones. The role covers troubleshooting, training, and ensuring secure, efficient operations across Windows and Apple environments.

You will respond to helpdesk requests, assist with data migrations, and work with external providers on projects. A degree and relevant experience are required, with certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CS/IT or related field with 3 years of IT support experience.
• Experience supporting Apple hardware/software preferred.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license; A+ or Network+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Helpdesk via phone, email, and ticketing system.
• Troubleshoot hardware and network issues.
• Support police department software and hardware needs.
• Provide PC, software, and mobile device support.
• Escalate issues to senior staff when needed.
• Provide cell phone and iPad training.
• Train staff on new equipment and software.
• Attend meetings to provide technical support.
• Install and configure OS and application software, patches, upgrades.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and software.
• Migrate data to new machines and perform routine maintenance.
• Develop new technologies to streamline processes.
• Perform other related duties.
