Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center is seeking a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst in Cleveland to conduct forensic financial analysis of entities involved in suspected crimes, perform cryptocurrency tracing, and prepare intelligence reports for public safety partners.

You will support the Forensic Financial Program Manager and handle data across databases, spreadsheets, and reports, communicating findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Public Safety role requiring analytical research skills and data interpretation.
• Experience writing reports and presenting findings to stakeholders is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial data analysis and investigative reporting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic financial analysis of businesses, individuals or groups involved in suspicious or illegal activity; compile findings into financial reports.
• Perform cryptocurrency tracing and analysis.
• Identify and analyze informational databases, spreadsheets and reports for easy exchange and understanding.
• Prepare intelligence reports, products, and briefings for presentation to public safety partners.
• Assist Forensic Financial Program Manager with fiscal functions within the ONIC.

What You’ll Do As a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst

• Conduct thorough forensic financial analysis of businesses, individuals or groups identified as participating in suspicious or illegal activity (e.g., conduct advanced analysis of financial data & other information related to financial crimes; compile findings & conclusions into financial reports; identify & trace funding sources & interrelated transactions; identify assets for forfeiture or seizure & calculate losses);
• Perform cryptocurrency tracing and analysis;
• Identify & analyze informational databases, spreadsheets & reports allowing information to be easily exchanged & understood;
• Prepare intelligence reports, products, & briefings for presentation to all public safety partners;
• Assist Forensic Financial Program Manager with all fiscal functions within the ONIC;

Option 1

36 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.

Option 2

• Or completion of undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field;

AND 12 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.

• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
