Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center (ONIC) is seeking a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst – Financial in Seven Hills, OH. The role focuses on forensic financial analysis and cryptocurrency tracing to support investigations and asset forfeiture decisions.

The position requires strong research skills, attention to detail, and clear written/verbal communication. ONIC operates 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with potential travel and federal clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• 36 mos. exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
• Undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field; AND 12 mos exp. conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic financial analysis of businesses, individuals or groups in suspected financial crimes; compile findings into financial reports.
• Perform cryptocurrency tracing and analysis.
• Identify informational databases, spreadsheets & reports for easy exchange and understanding.
• Prepare intelligence reports, products, & briefings for presentation to public safety partners.
• Assist Forensic Financial Program Manager with fiscal functions within the ONIC.

What You’ll Do as a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst

• Conduct thorough forensic financial analysis of businesses, individuals or groups identified as participating in suspicious or illegal activity (e.g., conduct advanced analysis of financial data & other information related to financial crimes; compile findings & conclusions into financial reports; identify & trace funding sources & interrelated transactions; identify assets for forfeiture or seizure & calculate losses).
• Perform cryptocurrency tracing and analysis.
• Identify & analyze informational databases, spreadsheets & reports allowing information to be easily exchanged & understood.
• Prepare intelligence reports, products, & briefings for presentation to all public safety partners.
• Assist Forensic Financial Program Manager with all fiscal functions within the ONIC.

Supplemental Information

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED TO REMAIN IN THE CLASSIFICATION AFTER EMPLOYMENT: If required, must obtain LEADS certification; must renew LEADS certification biannually. Additionally, some positions at Department of Public Safety must be able to obtain & maintain secret level federal security clearance.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: May require some travel. Working hours will include nights, weekends and holidays, based on operational need.

Position also requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Secret level Security Clearance.

Requires valid driver's license to operate state-owned vehicle or must be able to provide own transportation.
