Job summary

State of Ohio seeks a Financial Analyst for the Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio State Highway Patrol in Columbus. The role will review and code daily transactions in OAKS, post deposits, and monitor revenue from multiple sources while advising on fiscal matters.

Primary duties include complex reconciliations, daily deposits, ISTV processing for reimbursements, and ensuring accuracy of financial records in a public safety environment.

Qualifications

• 30+ mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance with intermediate spreadsheet skills.
• Undergraduate core in business administration, accounting, finance or related field with 6 mos. exp. in accounting/finance and spreadsheet skills.
• 12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561, or equivalent qualifications; Fiscal Academy may substitute for 4 mos. exp.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do as a Financial Analyst

• Review, audit & code daily accounting transactions for entry into Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS).


• Post transactions &/or payments.


• Provides guidance to Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) sections & district staff on fiscal matters.


• Conducts complex reconciliation of records.


• Prepare daily deposits &/or enter deposits into OAKS.


• Monitor revenue received from various sources.


• Process Intra-State Transfer Vouchers (ISTV) for reimbursements.

Qualifications

Option 1

30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance

to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.

Option 2

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field;

AND 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance

to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.

Option 3

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561.

Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
